April Already???

Happy April first off I am not going to lie to you I have not been my usual frugal self lately. I have had things that I needed to get like a chair for my Livingroom and two kitchen chairs. Why didn't you tell me furniture was so expensive. I have even when to a few thrift stores for secondhand furniture and they even want a lot for the used stuff. I have seen some used chairs go for as much as $100-300 dollars. That's crazy to me for used stuff. it's the same prices for the new furniture in the stores. I think what I will do is wait until I can go to estates sales and moving sales and maybe this summer. I will have luck finding the chairs I need. who cares if it doesn't match my living room as long as it's sturdy and cheap its ok by me. Same with the kitchen chairs. So, my tip to you being a cheapskate if you need something and can't find it in your price range wait on it if you can it's bound to come along cheaper t a later date. just have patience and it will come to you I promise you that.

                                                      Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy March. So, how's the money saying coming along? Since already hit the third month of the year and so fast to. For me I can't lie to you Amazon got me this month. Meaning I was looking for earring and the regular stores wanted $70 dollars and up for earring. I find some nice ones for $20 bucks on amazon. Which was much cheaper. I swore I would never use amazon to purchase but I will say things are much cheaper there then in retail stores. Have you seen the stuff they are selling in retail stores now. Even J.C. Penny which use to be cheap has went up in price that's kind of crazy to me. I see why everybody his making Jeff Bazo rich. So, March should be the start of a new challenge for you or something that you should give up. For me it's playing lotto. I got a bad addition for a cheapskate like myself and I am giving it all up for the month of march. So, what will you be giving up saving money this month?

Cd Rates

                                                         Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family.  

So, how's 2024 treating you so far. Most importantly how is your money treating you in the new year. Here's what I have been doing looking at bank rates on certificates of deposits. Right now my bank is offer 5.5% on their cd rates. Which is pretty good compared to 0.07% that you would get on a checking or saving account. At least with a cd account you can make a little bit of money on your money. To open an account in some banks it's only $100 and in others like mind is $500. I know that interest on $500 is not much but it beats what the stock market is giving you which that interest goes up and down too much for me.

So now I am scouting for better Cd rates and trying to scrape the $500 dollars together to put into one that will offer me a bit extra for doing so. I know your saying cd rates sucks. But what the heck it beats buying lotto tickets and losing all the time. That's another story for another day. I rather get a little bit then none at all. And yes, you have to pay tazes on the interest but if you have a lot of deductions or you don't make any money like me then your good, I think. Well, that's one of my cheap cheetah ways to make some money see who paying good interest and open an account at that bank.

It's Hard Be Cheap

                                                             Hello Family Happy New Year

Hello all well here's the my cheapskate story so far for the New Year 2024. Can we all say Rip Off. I had a taste for a whopper and I went to burger king. I usually get cheese with my whopper but now they are charging you $2 extra for a slice of cheese. I told them forget it. I ordered the regular whopper which tasted nasty, and it cost $8 a whopper from the normal $5. This year I am staying away from fast food it's too expensive and nasty tasting. It's hard being a cheapskate when prices keep going up. after I purchased the whopper I said I should have just gone to the store and got a package of ground beef and make a burger myself. At least I could have made a couple of burgers for later on for the price I paid for two whoppers.

So are we trying to save money in 2024. I keep saying I'm but bills always come in the mail that have to be paid and things break down which cost more than $200 to get it fixed.  I have set a budget for myself of $20 for fun stuff like me playing the lotto or getting a small treat. when the 20's gone for the month then I can't get another one until next month.

So how's the frugal/cheapskate life treating you so far. And are you saving that money like your suppose to be?

  Happy New Year Family Your probably taking advantage of the after holiday sales right? But wait.... ask yourself do you really need more junk to add to the junk you already have? Make sure that you are doing some kind of money challenge this year. I heard of a good one it's the weather money challenge whatever the weather is for the day in your city that's the money you have to put away for that day. I like this idea. So  for example in New Yorks it's 43 degrees I would have to put $43 dollars away today or you can do it weekly so every Monday whatever the temperature  is that's the money you have to save. If you don't have that kind of money to put away then use coins and put 43 cents away instead. As long has your saving something that's the whole point of it.

Shocking!

                                                        Hello Cheap Cheetah Family 

Well, I was shocked today. I got a medical statement saying how much my medical expenses cost for the month of November it was a whopping $4500. The insurance company paid $3000 of that. Mind you that $4500 is a month because I have some medical issues that are expensive. If I had to pay that it would cost me $150 a day which I don't have. So my questions to you with high medical expense how one can still maintain a cheapskate/frugal lifestyle and pay the bills. Living in New York is expensive as is but being sick is crazy expensive. I read in a book that said it cost you about $100 a day to stay above ground if you're sick more like $200 a day.

I always say to you try and keep some kind of medical insurance because you might be healthy now, but you never know when you're going to get sick and need that insurance. Even if you have to sacrifice something else to pay for it in the long run it's worth it. To have a piece of mind.

 It hard being a cheapskate now adays but I am trying. Have a blessed and happy Holiday.
