Happy Late Thanksgiving

                                                          Hello Cheap Cheetah Family

Sorry so late, but Happy Thanksgiving anyway. Hope that you had a good one. Being a cheapskate, mine was simply spent if with family eating what needed to be eaten from the freezer, which was a basic turkey parts and some beef I needed to use up before it went bad. What about you? I was watching the Black Friday craziness, which wasn't as crazy as before, no long lines and a busy mall. People are doing most of the shopping online these days. Also, I saw where a woman had set up in the park and was giving her stuff away for free. It was her campaign on the anti-Black Friday sale. the people loved the idea didn't like the name so much.

So are we planning our money-saving strategies for 2006 yet? I have some ideas, but not sure which way I'll be going next year. Just wanted to say, have a safe and Happy Holiday.

It Can Be Done

                                                   Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

It can be done if you're careful. I went to a Walmart yesterday, and I was looking at the prices for a Thanksgiving dinner. With the way the store rolled back some of its prices. I'm talking 50 cents for a package of corn bread mix, 98 cents for a can of soup, $1.15 for a box of stuffing, and 95 cents for a can of cranberry sauce, pasta .89 cents ,pasta sauce 1.25. You get the picture; the turkeys were 89 cents a pound, and they were large. I'm sure you can find smaller ones that are cheaper. Their discounted area had dinner rolls and sweet stuff marked down. I got a pack of sliced Italian bread for $1.25. So, you can make Thanksgiving dinner for like $25 if you go fancy, and maybe buy a dessert, it might cost you, say $30, but that should feed two or more people. If you budget and plan your meals right.

The Walmart I went to was packed. People were definitely looking at prices and only picking out what they really needed to buy. I don't think Thanksgiving will be a big food event like it was in the past. Since people are just returning to normal. Those who didn't get their SNAP benefits for a while and are just now getting them back. For me, if I were doing Thanksgiving, I would definitely do it from Walmart. It would be cheaper to buy the store brand than the name-brand items. So what are your frugal/cheapskate plans for Thanksgiving? Whatever it is, have a happy and safe one and be blessed.

Is it Just Me???

                                                  Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy November. Is it me, but how many times will you let someone or something knock you down before you fight it? I mean, I have seen all these government workers who were laid off, and now they are in lines for food. I'm not knocking them; you do what you have to do to feed your family. I know I would. This isn't the first time the government has laid off its workers. If that was me after the first time. I would be going into super cheap mode, trying to save every nickel I could get my hands on. So if I were laid off a second time, I would be prepared. You can only kick me one time before I get the message. I know things are hard right now, and money is tight. I get that, when I was working, no matter what, even if I could only save $5 out of my check, I did it for the just-in-case moments. Like the ones these government workers are having. For you to rely on someone that you've worked for 20 or more years is crazy. You have to rely on yourself. Am I wrong in saying this? I'm sorry, it's just how I feel. I've been kicked too many times financially not to come out swinging. When you get fed up, you do something about it. When the government workers do go back to work. I hope they realize that the only person they can count on his themselves.

Sorry for the rant, anyway, we are starting the second week of November. How's your savings progress going? Mine's slow, but I'm wrapping my coins and donating a lot of stuff that's really not needed. Did I mention that getting rid of clutter helps to save money in the sense that you don't need to clean it, mend it, or even look at it if you get rid of it.

November

                                              Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

So, how was your Halloween? You know the Halloween candy is 50% off right now. If you need some. To me, the candy nowadays doesn't taste as good as it used to be. Anyway. It's November 2, and I'm challenging myself to get back to the way I used to be, and that's being a cheapskate again. Especially since all the crazy things are going on with people not getting their SNAP benefits and the government laying off workers, besides other companies. These workers were living paycheck to paycheck, now relying on food banks to feed their families. These are scary times we're in. So that's more of a reason to tighten up and get our money right.

My goal is to get back to the basics of knowing where my money is coming from and where it's going. Meaning I hate to budget, but I will. I was starting to get wasteful when it came to food, so I'm cutting back on that and also just walking into a store and buying stuff that's not needed. I'm also paying close attention to my credit card bills since sometimes I have to question what a charge was and end up getting it corrected. I find that more often than I use to. Also, I'm just trying to figure out ways that I can still maintain my standard of living, which is sort of low if I lose any income for whatever reason. All of these things I'm challenging myself to do this month because the last thing I want to be is hungry and homeless, especially since I have medical issues that suck up a lot of my extra money.

So, what are you doing to save money? Let a renewed cheapskate know.

The Gray Wave: Rising Homelessness for American Seniors

                                              Hello, Cheap Cheetah Family

This was my wake-up call. I've been lacking in my cheapskate habits but... After seeing this story and others like it. Also, about the food pantries not having enough food to feed all the suddenly laid-off federal workers. Makes me stand up and pay attention to my own finances and what is coming in and going out. Especially since I have ongoing medical bills that I have to pay monthly. This is scary stuff when it comes to people and their money situations. It breaks my heart to see people being kicked out of their homes because of a lack of money, especially seniors who have worked all their lives ..

US Lottery: Why do so many Winners end up losing their Money? | FD Finance

                                                       Hey Cheap Cheetah Family

So, I'm hooked on these stories. It's nothing like seeing reality in its finest, especially when someone wins the lottery and their excessive spending is crazy. This always gives me a reality check when it comes to spending money and how easy it is to get and spend it, leaving one broke in the end. Watch and learn.

A Slow Way To Make Money

                                                     Hello Cheap Cheetah Family

How are you today? I might have mentioned this, but I've learned the slowest way to earn extra money is to open a CD account and just let it sit for as long as you can. I did this with a CD account that mimicked the stock market bond fund for two years. I put in about $5000 and let it sit for 2 years. Ok, I only made about $500 when it matured, but that was $500 I earned as interest. I didn't need the money, so I just let it sit there. Now, when it rolls over, it will get interest on $5500. You don't have to open a CD with that much money or for that long. But if you have extra money sitting around and don't need it for a while. Why not put it somewhere to make money off of it? I know what you're saying, CD rates now are lousy. They are, but overall, either in a CD which the government so far protects or thein the stock market with no protection. I would rather have my money safe right about now. Since I never know when I will need it. besides, it's easier for me to get my money from a bank than a broker. Not that I'm knocking stocks, I love them. I'm just cautious about how much money I put into them. I have money trust issues. Even if you start a bank CD with $500 ok you will make under $5 in interest with the way the rates are, but I always say every dime counts. Especially if you're a cheapskate like me. So, I'll take the little interest I get on $500 and roll all of it over for another CD term and watch my $505 grow to maybe $20 bucks or better, after all is said in done. This all depends on the rate and terms you choose for your Cd account, of course. With the interest I make, I could pay a bill or put down a down payment on some groceries.  Since food and everything else are so expensive nowadays.

Suggestion: You can save your coins for a certain period of time and put them into a CD account, rebates, lotto win, or anything extra you don't need, save it. When you get say $500 or more, look into a bank CD. They might be slow, but you still make money.( I'm not a financial expert of any kind, just a cheapskate),  Check which bank has a higher CD rate so you can reap the benefits of higher rates. This is one way a cheapskate like me makes the slow and safe way.

Just Wait

                                                  Hello, my Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy October. If you would just wait, sometimes waiting works out for you. I'm talking about a few months ago, the City of New York wanted people to purchase a special garbage can that said NYC Sanitation Department on it. The garbage can was a certain size and had a special top on it. this was so the garbage men knew what kind of garbage was in the can, so I think. anyway, before the recycling garbage cans, the city was giving them away for free. Now these new garbage cans cost $55. Which I refused to pay because I had until June 2026 to get the cans, and I also had a garbage cam already that was exactly like the one the city wanted me to buy, minus the name of the sanitation on it.  So, I figure I will wait until the last 3 weeks to get the sanitation garbage, which would be sometime in May of 2026.

But.... I got a letter yesterday stating that the state will reimburse me for the garbage can if I purchase it. so I say thanks, and now I will be buying my garbage can early in 2025 because I can get my money back for it.  Did I mention it was $55 for this garbage can? That for a cheapskate like me, was too expensive.  Not when I can buy the same kind of can for $30 bucks. Yes, I'm cheap and love it! So, it pays to wait sometimes when you want to buy stuff. Because you never know when it will be on sale, or you might even get the item for free sometimes.

Have You Checked??

                                                 Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy October, I wanted to ask you a question: did you check your homeowner's insurance to make sure you have enough coverage just in case something happens to your home and you have to rebuild it? I was going over my homeowner's insurance yesterday and noticed that the coverage to rebuild my home wasn't enough. Especially with inflation and things costing more money than they had been, say 3 years ago. Anyway, I had to call my insurance man and raise the amount for my home coverage. which you know raised my rates up. What do they say about insurance? It's a promise to pay you if something happens, which sometimes they don't. I feel you need the insurance, but at times, are we just throwing money away on a promise or hope that this company will stay in business enough to get what we gave them back? Just a thought. anyway, we have to have home insurance, so just a heads up check to see if your policy covers the full cost of your home being replaced if something happens to it.

So, are you saving, making, or spending any money so far this month?

Happy October

                                                      Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy October, well, what's going on? Is it me, but everything time you try to purchase something, there are fees attached to it. For instance, I went into the subway to get a subway card to ride the bus, and they charged me $1 just for the card alone, when it used to be free. Let's not talk about the plastic bags in the grocery stores that went from 5 cents to 10 cents now, and a cloth bag is 99c. What about when you buy gas, it costs more on credit than it does in cash because they are charging you for the fee the credit card company is charging them. And if you have an account where they will send you a check, like if you're doing surveys and things, they charge you a fee just to mail the paper check to you. it's free if you get a gift card of some sort. Hotels are doing the same things. I'm so tired of being nickel-and-dimed to death; it's crazy. I tried to get around it, but if you have to purchase these things to live what can you do but pay all these hidden fees? What do you do, and what fees have you come across that are just crazy?

Waste Water How Much???

                                                  Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

How are you today?  Are you saving money? I am trying, but I got my 3-month water bill from the city. I used to pay like $50 when we started to pay for water about 10 years ago, if not longer. Not sure why we are even pay for it now. Anyway, this month's bills was $235. I almost screamed What the h*ll!! I checked the bill they are charging me almost $175 for wastewater. So, if I flush my toilet, I'll get charged for it. I told my partner to run down to the gas station and use their toilet or get some buckets and use that.  Whatever you do don't flush the toilets, it's costing too much money. You know he looked at me like I was crazy. Anyway, living in New York is getting too expensive. The water department has the nerve to say they are getting a 4% increase that we have to pay. Also, I heard my energy company is going up to about 10%. It's even harder being a cheapskate, especially in expensive New York. No matter how many corners you cut, that little bit of money you're saving is going toward your bills or food, or rent. So, tell me, family, how are you saving money these days? I would sure like to know.

Cruising Ain't Cheap

                                                      Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

How are you today? Did I tell you cruising ain't cheap for a cheapskate like me? I'm back from cruising for ten days. I went to Turks & Caicos, the Dominican Republic, and lastly Bermuda, all on the Island Princess. The ship was about 22 years old, and you knew it. First, the air conditioning breaks down, and it's about 90 degrees in these islands, or better, then the toilets in some rooms back up, leaving you with a good awful smell, and let's not talk about the condition of the ship. It was small and only carried about 2,000 senior citizens in all kinds of walkers, wheelchairs, and with breathing devices. Some of the couples were cute, some had been married 50 years or more, god-bless them. Even they were complaining about the quality of services on the ship. I love my seniors, heck, I'm one of them. They tell the best stories. Anyway, getting back to the money part of the cruise.

It was 10 days, and for my partner and me, it cost about $3000, which wasn't too bad. Thank God. I got the extra package, which included free drinks under $15, two $5 desserts a day. Which I didn't eat, and the gratuities for the staff. There was so more stuff like use of the gym and specialty dining, which was a joke because the hot dog and burger stand that used to be free now they want to charge you for it.    The gratuities included were the only reason I paid about $60 per person extra. If I didn't do the plus package, it would have cost me about $25-30 per person a day in gratuities.   Anyway, can I tell you a can of Coke costs $4? A woman brought her own can of Coke onto the ship, and they still charged her the $4 .Crazy right? Alcoholic drinks were all $11 and up coffee was $4 and up. Taking personal pictures was $60-80 and up. Why take pictures? What do you have a cellphone for if not to take pictures?

Let's not talk about the gift shop, t-shirts were $50, sweatshirts $65, coffee cups $15, candy bars $5, tote bags $19. Do I need to go on? The crazy part was the meals they serve you crap food, but then tell you the better food is in the specialty restaurants that cost $55-60 per person. that's how they get you because you want to eat good,so you might just pay it. Not me, I ate what I had paid for the crap food until the end of the cruise. The casino on the ship was a joke. It was small, with the same type of slot machines that as made in a country you had heard of. They crammed the roulette and craps table together so you were always elbowing your neighbor. I saved my money with that because the casino on the ship just turned me completely off.

I'll let you know how expensive the islands were next time. Did a cheap cheetah like me spend money? Heck no! Most of the stuff they wanted to sell you can get it cheaper elsewhere, like the 99 and above stores.    Stay tuned for part 2 of my cruise adventure. Oh yea, I heard some of the people got their trip free because of their casino points or super cheap, that should have been me.

                                                           Hello  Cheap Cheetah Family

How are you today? Family, most importantly, are you saving that money? Anyway, I saw this video on people begging on YouTube for money to pay their living expenses, and this one's opinion on the whole situation. She made some valid points, and so did the guy commenting on her video. What do you think? Personally, I feel for people struggling it's hard out there, but theirs ways that you can do things, so you don't have to rely on others to pay your bills. My mother used to say God blesses the child who knows how to save a dollar!

Food Shock!

                                                              Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

So, how's July treating you? Here in New York, it's hot! Are you experiencing food shock like I'm experiencing here in New York? What I mean is that I went food shopping yesterday, and I swear the price jumped by $30 more than just a week ago. Last week I spent $150 on three bags of groceries, I kid you not, the same three bags cost me $180 yesterday. I swear food prices go up more than the stock market does. What do you think? How are you keeping your food bills low?  Here's what I'm doing. I am eating a lot of cold cereal, store brand. If I can find a pack of cheap meat, which is rare in my supermarkets. I buy it and separate the pieces so I can get a least two meals from it. Have you seen the price of steak? I saw a steak for $35. Really food prices are crazy. I try and shop at places like Aldi's and Dollar Tree. I only buy certain things out places like Dollar Tree. I don't trust some of the food items there.

I beg that's right, beg my neighbor for fresh veggies that he has growing in his garden since he's planted a lot of stuff. He always sends me over whatever he plants when it's ready.  I try not to waste anything that I had to spend money on, especially food. I had noticed while food shopping that people are only buying what they need. No extras, and they are using every discount they could think of to lower the price of food. Which is crazy. why can't we have the 60& 70's food prices?

Got Me to Thinking

                                                 Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

I need to quit watching so many YouTube videos about living on social security alone and how a lot of older people are living on just that. Watching those videos scared me. Had me thinking, can I live on just my social security check? The answer is heck NO!  I can't even live on my pension and social security; I'm still about $200 short, and that's not including food and miscellaneous. expenses.

So I ask you, can you live on social security alone? If not, then what can we do? First, I see a lot of seniors getting part-time jobs. Just look at your Walmart, supermarkets, and delivery service companies. Even YouTube videos, anything to make a couple of extra dollars to supplement their small income.

I also notice that people are taking advantage of free offers that are given out, where it's as a bank offering a better interest rate, your car or home insurance offering better rates if you do certain things, and such. I also notice that people have cut back on a few things, especially vacations.  Now it seems like vacations are really for the people with extra income, and that's not too many nowadays. Inflation increasing by the minute, and people are not being able to afford their basic needs. Vacations are the first to go along with any luxuries that are too expensive. Heck, I was thinking about getting rid of one of my cars because of the money I have to pay for gas.

I was watching a program where food pantries are running out of food because of the increase in families not making enough to cover their basic bills.   It's getting scary out there, family. So, all I say to you is this. Watch your money, look for sales, and if you have to get a second job or do something online to bring in a bit of extra income. I'm right along with you, family, on this. I'm always looking for ways to supplement my small income. I got medical bills that require me to pay a monthly deductible of about an extra $60 out of my pocket. Oh, let me tell you. collecting plastic bottles is now a big business I saw a guy in my neighborhood with three women going around collecting plastic bottles and cans out of people's garbage cans on recycling days. He had a truck with dozens of giant plastic bags full of plastic bottles in them. You need to do what you have to do to make your money stretch.

I Use To...

                                                          Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy July. So, are we saving money this month? I'll be honest, I'm trying, but the stores won't let me save. I went to my favorite store for discounts, J.C. Penney. They had tons of clothing on their clearance rack. They even had the nerve to say all pink tickets are $3.  I am talking at least 8-10 full racks of clothes from plus size women down to the tiny sizes for women, like size 0. Anyway, I went through the racks thinking of the summer stuff. I could get it cheap because I'm going on vacation soon. You know I didn't find one pink ticket for a $3 piece of clothing, right?  I search through a bunch of discounted clothing racks, which also shows me that whoever's buying for J.C. Penny is buying too much stuff that people don't want. did I forget to mention they also had walls full of dresses and sweaters, and stuff? Anyway, I went through the clothes and the prices, no lie, for the cheapest items were $9.99 and up to $35.oo Is it me, that's not what I considered a clearance.  For me, clearance is price points like $5.99-$20, and the higher price is for the really good stuff.

Needless to say, I was disappointed in the prices. I walked over to the regular price section of clothing. They had the nerve to charge 35-60 for a pair of pants or a coordinating set. J.C. Penny is losing its mind thinking it's Macy's. Guess a cheap cheetah like me will head to Walmart, which is cheaper, and mix and match what I have in my closet for my upcoming vacation. Between food prices, clothing, repairs, and basic bills, a cheapskate can't get a break. My suggestion is thrift stores or Walmart for cheaper clothing, but be warned, the thrift stores in my area have increased their prices on just about everything.

Life Her Way Of ....

                                                       Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy July 1st! I know it's only June 30th, but I'm ahead of schedule. Anyway, I came across this woman's video on how she cruises on the cheap. It's a clever way to go on practically free cruises. I thought about trying to do this myself. Not the whole living on a cruise part, but the next time I try cruising, I'll try and get the price as cheap as possible. I see she only sticks to certain cruise ship lines. That's alright by me if I can go cheap like she does. See how much her expenses are when she cruises. It's a good way to have fun while still sticking to a budget. So, what are your cheapskate vacation plans for the summer?

Bills

                                                      Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Bills, Bills, Bills want to kill a cheapskate/frugal person really quick? Give them bills to pay. I got my property taxes along with some medical bills, and add a visa bill to that all-in-one day. It was slowly killing me to write checks, and I mean big ones, too. To all these people, and have nothing to show for it in return. besides making me say when I pay bills, it also gives me a wake-up call and forces me to see if anything would happen to my partner's income, can I live on just my income alone? The answer would probably be not. I don't make enough from my pension or even with social security to cover my bills. Thank God for my savings. I've been a savaholic since I was 14 years old and had my first job. I got kind of obsessive with saving at one point, walking to the bank just to put $5 in my account when I was younger. and as I got older, it was whatever my part-time job gave me, I saved and did without. Money was like a security blanket for me throughout my life. Anyway, make sure to check all your bills and see that they're correct, even your grocery bills; the cashiers make mistakes too. And let the bills you have to pay be a lesson to you, ask yourself what I can cut back on, and do I have enough saved if something happens, if my income is reduced for any reason. Something to think about, right?

Expensive Month

                                                         Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Why is the summer always so expensive? It's not even the middle of June, and I have already run over budget with stuff. Birthdays are in June, vacation time, and extra bills are in June. June is getting to suck when it comes to being a cheapskate. The only advice I would give myself is that if any extra money comes my way, take some of the money and put it aside for the expensive summer months. Because you know things happen in the summer, birthdays, weddings, family vacations, and other unexpected stuff. What I've been doing is downsizing and trying to sell off stuff that I have collected through the years to get extra money. I do surveys, but they take too long to pay out.  It takes 5 years to get to the level of $20 to get a check. Well, you know what I mean( hahah)

I'm still rolling my coins up for the saving summer months, but other than that. I try and find ways I can cut back, but there is only so much you can cut, right? Let a cheapskate like me know if you have any thoughts about what or how you save for the expensive summer months.

June Already???

                                                          Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

Ok, who stole the months from me? It's June already, and things seem to be getting more expensive as the months roll by. So much so, I've become a broken record when it comes to complaining the prices of things. especially food. I've noticed when I go into the grocery story that people are only buying what they need, and it better be a good sale, if not, they aren't buying it. I can't blame them. The last time I shopped, it cost me $130. I almost walked out when I heard how much food was costing me. I don't know what to tell you when it comes to this matter. I'm at a loss. But if you have any suggestions on how to keep your food bill down, please share them with me. I like to know too. Besides stopping eating altogether, which would create medical bills, which goes without saying, is expensive. what are we to do?

Here I go Again

                                                            Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

How are you today? Happy May. So what are you doing this month. I'm going crazy because it's free. Kidding. I am trying a simple dollar-a-day challenge to see if I can save or make a dollar a day. I'm also going over my bills to see where I can cut back. Did I mention, living in New York is expensive? Every time you turn around, the city wants you to pay for something that's not worth it. Like the sanitation garbage cans that cost $55.  If you didn't purchase these garbage cans and they came around to check, they had the nerve to fine you $100 bucks for putting your garbage in the wrong container. That was just crazy to me.  Now they stop doing that., Everything's in a time out. No more fines, and the city got millions forcing people to buy $55 in garbage cans  that's not even worth it. Sometimes it saves you money to stick to your guns and not let people make you buy stuff you really don't want or need.

Anyway, what are your money-saving plans for May? Share them with me right here and let's find creative ways to Save, Make, and have Fun with Money together.

I Cried

                                                        Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family.

I cried right there in P.J. grocery store when the woman told me that my bill for a couple items was $332.00. Then I said what the F. Why is grocery so expensive and the item size is so little. P.J.'s is like a Costco's if you're not familiar with it they sell lard size items in bulk. That way you're supposed to get a better deal but in reality, you're not because the size of the items is smaller, and the price is higher. Plus, they hit you with a membership of $60 bucks but I had a coupon for it was only$20 for the year for me but still look at the price I had to pay for the food I purchased.

In New York, I have not found any good deals but I have noticed that people are cutting way back on their spending. Which I need to do as well. I notice that entertainment has not gone down in price, but they are offering an incentive to come to them like the casinos and cruising, airlines, etc.  Right now you can take advantage of the deals that are being offered if you can.

What gets me more motivated to save money is that I see all my medical bills that I have if it wasn't for insurance I would be homeless. I just got a statement from the insurance company from surgery that i had three years ago and that bill was $70,000. I kid you not. Thank god for insurance that is one thing I will not be cheap on because not having it  will wipe out a cheapskate's life savings in a hot minute.

Well, that's about it for me today Have a great Cheap Cheetah Day & Save that Money!

Fell Off

                                                       Hello My Cheap Cheetah Family

Happy April 1st or April Fool's Day. Question have you ever fell off the wagon and not sure you want to get back on it. Well, that's what happened to me I have fell off the cheapskate wagon and am not sure if I want to get back on.  I need to because living in New York on a limited income is expensive. Being of a certain age, I tried to look at programs that would offer me a discount because of my age. I realize that many city programs are income bases which rules me out on many things. Oh, I could get meals on wheels for free, but  I feel why take that opportunity from somebody who needs it more than me.

If you need help with certain things because maybe your paycheck or income can't cover your bills and other things you might need like food, heat, transportation. Look at see if your city offers any kind of free or low-cost programs for you. Hey, it doesn't help to check right?

Like I always tell you with this nasty thing called inflation always see if you can get things cheaper or if they will offer you a discount because of an organization like AARP, Union, City worker, etc. If you can get even 5% off that helps in the long run. Also, when did air fare get so expensive? I used to fly for under $200 dollars now a one-way fare is $400 to $500 is that me or are the prices of flying crazy?

Where To Shop

                                                           Hello, My Cheap Cheetah Family

How is everybody today? I am trying to find cheap places to shop besides the regular thrift stores and Goodwill. Which I have found that thrift stores and Goodwill's have raised their prices almost like most other stores have. which is causing me to shop on the cheap at regular department stores. Anyway, J.C. Penny is my place to get cheap stuff I need. They had ten to twenty racks of clothes marked down at 70% off, but their 70% price was not my idea of what 70% off prices should be. So, I passed on it... A pair of sweatpants that were originally $50 bucks were marked down to $20. That was still too steep for a cheapskate like me. Their clearance racks used to have nice things for $10-15 dollars at most. The good part was that I got 3 pairs of shoes for $60 bucks, where the original cost of the shoes was $60 a piece. That was a good deal to me. Other than J.C. Penny, it is not the store it used to be when it comes to finding good cheap bargains for a cheapskate like me. what do you think?

I was reading somewhere where Aldi's is the place to shop for inexpensive food items. which is true in some cases. I purchased milk there for $1.35 in the regular store, they want $3-4 for milk. Eggs are the same thing. Aldi's is cheap, it depends on what you need. Their meat department is not good in my opinion. But the basics like cheese, milk, bread, and things, their prices are pretty good. I felt good leaving a store with basic things I needed for only $25 bucks, compared to the $100 I normally would spend for the same things. Just my Cheap Cheetah Thoughts for Today.

Happy Belated Valentines Day

                                                           Hello Cheap Cheetah Family

You know you can say I still love you after Valentine's Day with deals on candy and stuff that are now going on. I think they might be offering 25% off stuff. If you wait until Monday, you might get Valentine's Day stuff at 50-75% off. Not too many people are buying Valentine Day things anymore for their love ones. Why buy a box of $10 candy when you can get a pack of chicken and maybe a bag of rice for that same price and have a nice Valentine's Day dinner that will last you for two to three days. Am I right? Things are so expensive. Have you seen the price of eggs and milk lately? Forget eating meat that's now considered a luxury only for the people who have money. what is our country coming to.

I find myself shopping in places like Aldi's and Lidi's which are much cheaper on food and other items. They don't have much meat but it's ok. when I can get milk a gallon for 2.50 cents, I say I can buy my meats in other places.  Also, if you have extra money sitting around have you looked into Cd rates. They are not the best but if you have some extra money lying around and don't need it anytime soon Why not make a little bit of money off of it by sticking into a 3–7-month cd at a bank that gives rates of 45 or higher. Just a suggestion.

so how much did you spend for Valentine's day I hope that you let your cheapskate/frugal creative mind do something fun without breaking the bank to do it.
