 Saw this in my e mail today and I wanted to share it with you. NCL is offering Free stuff at sea and the deposit is only $1. I think I could find a dollar. All I have to do is rolled some coins. I was looking in to cheap cruising out of  New York. I try not to pay no more then $2000 for two people with a lot of perks for my $$. I did not see anything that I liked but I am still looking. 

 For a cheapskate like me if I can get  free stuff and cheap cruising that would be a great vacation for me because my hotel, restaurant and  entertainment is all in one place.  Plus I am going to places that I have never been to sounds good to me.

Good Movie

                                                        Hello Family Happy Monday

 Over the weekend I picked up this movie about J. Paul Getty one of the riches men in is time. I am talking this man was cheap. He did buy a lot of stuff but he didn't spend on what he thought was unnecessary staff.  Anyway his grandson get's kidnapped.  The kidnapper want a lot of money to return him. This movie was very good and it taught you a lesson in how all the money in the world could not buy you happiness and love.  Getty was a hot mess in this movie. If you like movies about money and craziness then I would recommend you  watching this. Trust me you will learn a thing or two in the end. I know I did.

Summertime is here and The Vacations should be cheap & easy

                                   

Think about short 2-3 day trips  Places where you can go and relax near you that would not cot a lot of $$.  A place that you can drive to within say 2-3 hours. For me I go to Atlantic City it's about a 3 hour drive from NYC and it offer beaches, restaurants, good food and the hotels gives me free room and discounts on my food. If I am lucky I get gambling $$ to

What about taking the kids to amusement parks that are not so popular for the summer. I was looking on youtube and I see a lot of places that have parks and places to stay cheap. Places like Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky. These places you can stay and have entertainment for your children at less then it would cost you to go to Disney world

Look for cheap 2-3 day cruises. I have seen them for under $1000. It's a cheap and relaxing vacation. Especially if you live inn or around Florida you can cruise for almost  next to nothing.

Looking in to companies that offer day trip in and around where you live. I used to see a bus company where I lived offer day or overnight  trips to people. They would go to Washington, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania  These places were a couple hours away from New York by bus and the prices for these trips were cheap at the time 

Family if you get along with family that live out of state why not ask them if you could visit for a day or two. That way you stay with them  no hotel cost. But do offer to pay for the food and anything extra the week your staying with them.

Look for cheap deals like airfare. I always see where JetBlue is going when they have a $59 one way deal. Hey I can go to west bubble if the place has a hotel and it's cheap to get there.

This is a short list of suggestions. Just because we are frugal/cheapskates doesn't mean that we need not take a vacation. You need to enjoy your life that's what we are frugal/cheap for right so that we can enjoy some of the nice stuff in life.

This Is My Season

 This is my season yard sale/garage sale time. I can get up early get out and admire people's junk. This is also the time  I  start looking for my holiday gifts and things that I might need to go on vacation with. A women  yesterday at her garage sale was selling  brand new carry on luggage by Calvin Kline for 5 bucks. If I had needed it I would have gotten it. This is the season family to go out search have fun  and get more bang for your buck.

Here are some suggestions

Get DVDs and CDs (and of course books) from my friendly local library to enjoy at home.

Have an assortment of hobbies (knitting, sewing, sketching), have a plot in a community garden as well as container plants at home, I go for walks, and I've been known to have a social life.

Books for free from the library. The library also has movies for free and programs to entertain children, for free.

Try over the air tv.

Board games, if your family is large enough to have participants. Card games, chess, checkers, Chinese checkers. (you actually give your kid a big boost to get ahead in life if you train the child to play chess)

Assorted hobbies, woodworking, fabric arts. General art, like drawing, watercolor, gel pen.

Gardening, especially growing food plants. Competing for prizes in some of the plant contests, biggest pumpkin, best rose, best tomato

Family walks, flower walks, bird walks.

Train the pet dog and enter competitions.

Picnics in the park.

Have a number of play lists you assembled on You tube, that you can listen to on my laptop speakers.

Watch free sports streamed live from Russia, mostly MLB baseball.

While other people are watching TV, my wife and I play Battleships on graph paper with pencil.

 Learn new  language online. It's frugal.

 Get dumbbells at home: You  can do  a full body workout if you know how.

Writing short stories. Get your inner author started

Surfing web for learning, and You tube and forums.

Buy a guitar, fiddle, banjo or bongo or whatever. Instead of watching TV watch you tube and learn how to play an instrument.
