Personal Note

Hello Family How Are You Today?

On a personal note. You know that I am still doing the dollar a day challenges. Also I have been keeping records of my spending on stuff  daily with my calendar. I do a monthly total. Anyway this month has been spendy for me in that my addictions of playing the lottery and eating cake is costing me big time. For the month of May I spent over $100 playing lotto to win $30 back. In the sweets department I spent over $50 and what did it get me higher numbers in the diabetes department.
What I am saying with all of this is that addiction will cost you in the long run. Yes I am a cheapskate but when it comes to my addictions playing lotto and eating cake I am  Willie Big Spender!

I don't want this to happen to you what has happen to me. Putting money in a money pit that I will never see again. So here's what you gonna do. This includes me to. For the month of June  every time you want to spend money on your addiction don't!! Put that money in a safe place to use for say a vacation,  or to do something fun with it at a later date. You have to say no to addictions and yes to money!

You know that old saying if I knew then what I know now. Well now you know so let's work on fixing the problem and not adding to it. Me included.

This is the season where we can find brand new stuff and like brand new for pennies on the dollar. Yes I am excited because this is my season and it should be yours to. So let's go out there and find stuff  with a budget of course and share them right here with me.  Also you can find great stuff to re-sale for a buck or two. Then & Now

Hello Family how are you today?

Have you ever hear of that saying I wish I knew then what I know now? Well when it comes to being a frugal/cheapskate and life in general here are some of the things that I wish I knew then.

1.  When I was 18 and the housing market was cheap compared to today. I wish I knew to purchase a house in my neighborhood for around $100,00. That was a lot of money to me . But If I would have convinced my mother  to go half's with me we could have done it. Now housing are selling for $750,000-800,00

2.  Finish my college education. I was getting free money from the government to go to school and stupid me did not finish. I thought I knew it all at 20 and wanted to work instead . Dumb move I could have gotten a better job with higher pay if I had stayed in school.

3. I wished I had learned more from my grandfather who was super cheap and knew how to wheel and deal when it came to getting the best bang for his buck. Plus he knew how to buy stuff  super cheap to make money on.

4.  Not to take care of my so called boyfriends. they cost me a lot of money because I WAS YOUNG AND DUMB. I was buying them clothes, paying their car notes, rent, con ed bills, giving them spending money all in the name of so called love. You know how much money I could have had had I not been foolish.

5. To take advantage of opportunities that came my way when I was younger. Taking a  city test for city jobs were like $10 back in the day . When I started taking test it was $25 to take it the same test.

6.  When I worked two jobs for about 8 years I should  have banked my part-time jobs money and lived on my full-time jobs money. Since  my part-time job's money  was not needed  at the time.   Instead I spent  that money on god knows what.

7. I  wish I knew more about cars  back then because the car dealership saw me coming and ripped me off I paid $10,000 for a used car. Buying it brand new  back then would have cost me $12,000

8. Not spending time with the people who are no longer here because you knew that they would be around forever.

9.   A women I personally  knew  and trusted  urged me to buy her company stock it was selling back then for $11 a share and I worked for a brokerage firm so I could do it easily. Dumb me was to scared to do it. Now the stock is $104 a share.

10. To stay away from the junk food back   it cost me heath wise and money wise in the long run. . I am now  a diabetic and it costing me more money now for medications, doctors visit then the junk food I  purchased and ate back then.

That's my wish I knew then what I know now story what's yours?

Discipline

Hello Family How Are You Today?

  Discipline

You see everyone else going, doing ,spending, You want to do that do but.. Ways to find  discipline when it come to saving money.
1.You have to find a motivation that will get you started. After a good start, you begin to thrive on it. After a while, frivolous spending will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

2.  Think about when you were just starting out and the money was tight. You had just enough to cover your basic living expenses if that. Now that your older and making a lot more money. Go back to the mindset of your  younger years when the money was tight and paying for the basic was all you could afford. The rest of the extra money you have put that toward your saving goals, retirement, new car, home, vacation, education, new business.

3. Fear to me is the best motivator and a good way to become discipline  with your saving. Do a what if in your mind, what if I lose my job, my medical insurance is cut off, I lose my home, have an unexpected emergency. Nothing makes you want to save money more then fear.

4. Set your goals and don't let anything stand in your way. This is where your will  to save will give you the  mindset to move mountains in order to achieve the money goals you have set.

5. I think it helps to know why you buy stuff. It's important to differentiate between 'need' and 'want'. I have watched my friend end up almost homeless because life threw her a curve ball and she didn't expect it. Mind you she had 30 years of living rent free but did not save a dime of her working income or was not motivated to change her money life.  Think about a situation that you know of about a friend, co worker, family member who got caught out there money wise because they were not  disciplined  with their money. Don't you be that person.

 6. Like anything in live you have to put blinders on when it comes to your saving goals, You have to say Heck No I am not spending this money on this crap this money is going toward... Whatever you goals is.

With the economy in tatters it's a good idea to make a plan and commit to paying down your debt and saving money for your goals.
